A TurtleBot Office

Uploaded on Sep 11, 2011

Here at Clearpath, we've been busy shipping hordes of TurtleBots to the four corners of the earth. We're really excited to see what all of you are doing with yours, so we thought we'd show everyone what happened when we looked the other way and let them take over the office. Enjoy!

ROS Nav2 Mapping & Navigation Demo | TurtleBot 4

Oct 20, 2021

In this demo the Turtlebot4 prototype uses its 360 degree RPLIDAR A1 to produce a laser scan of its surroundings. This data, along with the odometry provided by the Create3 is processed using slam_toolbox to generate a map of the robots surroundings and to calculate the pose of the robot within the map. The Nav2 package is then used to generate the local and global costmaps for navigation and obstacle avoidance. Once the map has been generated, the Nav2 Goal tool is used in RVIZ2 to set a navigation goal and the Nav2 nodes calculate the path for the robot to reach its destination. The robot will then follow this path, making any necessary adjustments along the way.

More advanced ROS 2 and TurtleBot 4 demos are on the the way. Subscribe to the channel be notified when new demos are released.

TurtleBot 4 | An out of this world demonstration

May 5, 2023

Happy Star Wars Day from Clearpath Robotics, and May the 4th be with you!

In this video we highlight a fun project created by Sam Tagliabracci, Hilary Luo and Jeff Schmidt during our recent company-wide TurtleBot 4 Hackathon. In this project the team explored vocalization functionalities, and GPT to give the robot it's character and personality.

Backstory:
"A small, lost, and adorable alien robot has crash landed on our planet. Many of its subsystems were damaged and it is seeking help! Luckily, our team of brilliant engineers stumbled upon the stranded robot and moved it to the repair bay. With their expertise, they've managed to repair the damaged subsystems and get the robot back up and running. The lost robot begins communicating and we learn about its home origins, its self-awareness of its own sensors, hopes to return back to its home planet, fear of cliffs and dangerous hazards, as well as its intelligent interpretation of our human language"
