The video shows the mobile manipulation robot Momaro, developed at University of Bonn, Germany. It gets up from the ground, drives around an obstacle, steps over a barrier, and turns a valve handle.
 

DARPA Robotics Challenge Finals: NimbRo Rescue Day 1

Through the mobile manipulation robot Momaro, team NimbRo Rescue of University of Bonn, Germany solved seven of the eight tasks of the DARPA Robotics Challenge: driving the car, climbing out of the car, opening the door, turning the valve, cutting a hole in a drywall, traversing debris, and the surprise task, which was to operate a big switch. All this was done in only 34 minutes.
Team NimbRo Rescue was the best European team, comming in 4th in the overall ranking.

First video from the DLR SpaceBot Camp run of Team NimbRo Explorer, captured with the on-robot cam: The mobile manipulation robot Momaro takes a soil sample, collects a battery pack, transports them to a basis object, puts the sample on the scale, operates a switch, and inserts the battery.

Our team NimbRo Explorer solved through the mobile manipulation robot Momaro all tasks at the DLR SpaceBot Camp: taking a soil sample, finding and grasping two objects, transporting them to a basis object, assembly (placing the soil sample at a scale and inserting a battery pack) and operating a switch. The video also shows the removal of debris.
 

Hybrid driving-stepping locomotion with the wheeled-legged robot Momaro

This video demonstrates the hybrid locomotion design of the mobile manipulation robot Momaro. It contains qualification material for the DARPA Robotics Challenge 2015 (DRC), material from our run at the DRC finals, footage from a stair climbing experiment in our lab, and finally material from the DLR SpaceBot Camp 2015.
