    For ISRO’s PSLV-C57 mission, a Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in the “XL” configuration (PSLV-XL) launched the Aditya-L1 spacecraft, from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR), Sriharikota, India, on 2 September 2023, at 06:20 UTC (11:50 IST). Aditya-L1 is ISRO’s first space based mission to study the Sun.

    Aditya-L1 deployment

    ISRO’s Aditya-L1 spacecraft has successfully separated from the Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) in the “XL” configuration (PSLV-XL) launched from the First Launch Pad (FLP) of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC-SHAR), Sriharikota, India, on 2 September 2023, at 06:20 UTC (11:50 IST). According to ISRO, the Aditya-L1 spacecraft has been deployed into a highly eccentric Earth bound orbit and use its own propulsion to reach a halo orbit around the Lagrange point 1 (L1) of the Sun-Earth system.
