Timmy - simple rover node
Published on May 3, 2016
A short demonstration of a ROS node I put together for Timmy so he could start to stretch his legs autonomously. I subscribe to the depth data and determine feasibility to travel around the room.

Fun with ROS nodes
Published on May 3, 2016
For the first time I'm running ROS on the HR-OS1 and I put together a new package that allows me to command one robot from another over the network. Gotta love ROS!

Hello silly human!
Published on May 5, 2016
I finally got back to experimenting with cob_people_detection which used for detecting heads and faces and recognizing people. I wrote a node that subscribes to the detection data and commands Timmy to look around until he sees a face and will announce the names of the faces he recognized. He can also speak a customized greeting when he sees faces that have not been trained. Now I can mix this with the simple rover and he can walk around while looking for faces and when he can stop to say hello and carry on when you leave.

Tall and slow gait
Published on Jun 10, 2016
A short demonstration of the most recent gait I've given Timmy. Stability and accuracy were the main priority and the extended leg length was bonus. I'm really happy with the 1Hz cycle and my odometry from the gait velocities is much more accurate.
