TECNALIA presents HIRO (https://pr.ai/showthread.php?7086), a collaborative robot for industrial applications

Published on May 25, 2012

Thanks to TECNALIA, this is the first time that this robot, developed by KAWADA Industries (https://pr.ai/showthread.php?3831), goes out from Japan. During a long time, this country, leader of industrial robotics, has developed this technology considering it "protected national heritage" and without sharing it out from its frontiers, but now it has trusted TECNALIA to adapt and introduce HIRO in companies for real industrial applications.

Concretely, TECNALIA is evaluating the robot capabilities to perform industrial applications, and developing this robot?s intelligence to adapt it to the industry, making it possible for the robot to perform different actions in different places depending on the needs of each customer. For this aim, TECNALIA collaborated with one of its main clients, AIRBUS, considering its industry experience and vision. Both, AIRBUS and TECNALIA, went to Japan to discuss with Kawada and analyse the capacity of the robot to answer the real industry needs.
