Yotel, a hotel in New York, now has a robot called the Yobot designed to help visitors with their luggage storage before and after checkout
The Yobot can lift up to 500 pounds and handles roughly 300 bags per day
Guests take their bags to their own rooms
Yotel also has kiosks for self check-in which 95 per cent of guests prefer over checking in with hotel staff
Yotel will not say how much money they are saving by employing robots over people for certain tasks

Yobot at Yotel New York

Yobot is the giant robot arm at Yotel New York that stores your luggage. To use it, you dunk what you want to store in a bin on the opposite from the kiosks, which Yobot then drags over to your designated cubby along a wall of storage spaces. When your ready to claim your belongingss, simply scan the barcode on your receipt. It's not really a faster process than dropping off bags at the concierge desk, since the one bot handles all customers, but the process is fun to watch, and Yobot does know exactly where your stuff is at.
