Get to know Ozobot Evo, the smart and social robot
Published on Nov 30, 2016
Meet Ozobot Evo, the smart robot that entertains while teaching coding and creative thinking. Watch this video to discover all of Evo’s parts, its power button, sensors, lights and charging port.
Ever wondered how Evo works? Thanks to color and line detection technology, you don’t need a smartphone or tablet to enjoy Evo. This 1.25 inch robot has optical sensors on its bottom side, which allow it to “read” the surface below it. Just pull out markers and paper and unleash your inner Picasso. Use the Ozobot universal color language to control Evo and command the bot to spin, speed up and much more.
Evo also has four infrared proximity sensors on its front and back sides. Evo mostly uses these sensors to detect and avoid obstacles, but the bot will also use proximity sensors to “see” you. While Evo is following lines, place your hand in front of or behind the bot and watch the reaction!
Finally, Evo has six insanely-bright lights—five on its front side and one on top. Evo uses a combination of lights and sounds to express emotions and share a quirky personality. Ignore Evo for too long, and you might hear a beeping that means Evo is bored to death. Block Evo’s path, and Evo might flash warning lights and grumble at you.
