Members of the Russian Strategic Missile Troops (RVSN RF) tested the Russian Army's latest mobile robotics system, at a military base in the Moscow region, Monday. The new bit of kit is an unmanned combat terrain crawler controlled by wireless computer system. The Mobile Robototechnical Complex (MRK) unit is designed to reinforce RVSN RF's protection capabilities. The Russian Army has not revealed the new robot's specific designation.
The vehicle can be armed with assorted weapons and specialized gadgets to detect and destroy stationary and moving targets, for fire support and reconnaissance. The crawler boasts a turret-mounted Kord-12.7 mm heavy machine gun, a tank-adapted version of the 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun and a 30-mm automatic grenade launcher.
The Russian Federation's Strategic Missile Troops are a branch of the Armed Forces that control Russia's land-based inter-continental ballistic missiles.

Crowd-funding campaigns can raise money for some pretty wacky projects, such as asteroid defense or images of brains on LSD. But rarely do you hear of campaigns raising funds for military equipment. Enter the People’s Project, a volunteer-led organization based in Ukraine that has a section currently raising funds for a military drone.
