littleBits Synth Kit in collaboration with KORG

    Published on Nov 8, 2013

The littleBits synth kit is an incredibly powerful, easy to use modular synthesizer. The Synth Kit, developed in partnership with Korg, a pioneer of electronic musical equipment, enables amateur and professional musicians to easily explore the iconic synthesizer instrument, allowing you to make exciting new sounds and build their own infinitely customizable and expandable analog modular instrument and put on your own performances - all with little to no engineering or musical knowledge. The Synth Kit includes an assortment of 12 electronic Bits modules that instantly snap together with magnets to create circuits like those used in Korg's famous analog synthesizers.

Developed to inspire innovation in hardware, littleBits lets users create circuits in seconds, with no soldering, no programming and no wiring required. littleBits has been recognized as "LEGO for the iPad generation" and has been heralded as the most extensive, modular and accessible electronics platform in the world. The brand's Bits™ modules revolutionize the way people interact with technology by breaking down electronics into their very basic parts (lights, sounds, sensors, motors, programmable circuits), and making engineering fun and accessible to "non experts" of all ages including children , teachers, artists, designers, makers, hobbyists and tech-enthusiasts.

    littleBits CNC Bot

    Published on Jan 31, 2014

CNC, or computer numerical control, automates and controls tools such as drills and that are otherwise controlled manually via wheels and levers or other mechanical system. This miniature CNC platform allows you to control tools by using littlebits servo motors and various input modules! You can remix the controller with many different modules and even hack the tool holder to control different tools!

The littlebits CNC is based on the picollo CNC project.

    littleBits Guest Maker: Bilal Ghalib

    Published on Feb 3, 2014

Last week we had the pleasure of hosting Bilal Ghalib, a hacker aficionado and founder of both GEMSI (Global Entrepreneurship and Maker Space Initiative) and pocketfactory.org, at our offices in New York City. We asked Bilal to come spend time with us at littleBits and make the craziest project he could think of.

Not only did Bilal create a mind-blowing project with interesting interfaces that challenge the way we think about littleBits in combination with the physical and digital realms, his process truly showcased the power of littleBits as a prototyping tool.
