Autonomous landmine searching robot

Uploaded on Sep 13, 2007

Gryphon is a humanitarian demining robot that is able to generate precise sensor images of suspected landmine locations. It operates using a stereo vision camera to acquire topographical terrain information that is then used to generate all the movement sequences for an autonomous scanning motion of the attached sensors. The sensor payload currently consists of a metal detector and a ground penetrating radar.
Gryphon was developed at Tokyo Institute of Technology, where I worked on it (control and software parts) for my PhD thesis (2004-2008)
