China's home-grown car parking robot unveiled

Published on May 25, 2016

Tired of struggling to find a parking space?

This car park "robot" may be able to give you a lift.

It's an automated car parking system developed by Yee Fung Technology, a company based in the southern Chinese city of Shenzhen.

A driver only needs to take the vehicle into a loading bay, gets out of the car, swipes an access card, and press a button several times to make sure it's properly locked.

A lift then drives the vehicle to the required floor and takes it to the designated place.

When the driver needs the car again, they wait for the computerized system to retrieve the vehicle.

The "robot" delivers the car in about two minutes.
