Agility Robotics has partnered with Ford to develop a delivery solution that matches the right robot to the right job. Digit hitches a lift with a Ford Transit, then completes the delivery to the doorstep.
Digit gets some outdoor exercise, testing battery and motor endurance. Filming locations: Downtown Albany, OR; Talking Water Gardens; Peavy Arboretum. Music: Dusk, by DivKid (YouTube Audio Library).
Meet Digit version 2. New features: ground-up torso redesign, 2-DOF foot, active cooling and expanded environmental range, larger battery, and perception. No music on this video so you can gauge robot sound levels relative to background HVAC sounds.
Demo details: this video shows shared autonomy, with picking/placing + footstep placement autonomous, nav under local teleop.
One of Digit's autonomy layers ensures a minimum distance from obstacles, even mobile ones like pesky engineers. In this video, the vision system is active and Digit is operating under full autonomy.
Digit v2 demonstrates autonomous pick and place with multiple boxes.
There's no "I" in team, but there are two in Digit, who now has a twin robo-sibling and a few new tricks.
CES is known for its challenging Wifi environment. We’re operating in shared autonomy mode for the demo, and here’s an example of command lag causing a knee strike. The active balance routine takes over and prevents a fall. Full autonomy avoids this, but we’re keeping humans in the loop while at CES.
Lexy checks out DIGIT the bi-pedal delivery robot from Ford Motors at CES 2020!
The sophisticated bipedal robot is getting a test run from one of the world's biggest automakers.

In this video we show you how to assemble your Digit robot for the first time. Digit is the size and weight of a small adult human but packs down into two cases that fit through the luggage door on narrowbody aircraft or in most passenger vehicles. Assembly can be completed in under 10 minutes, by a single person, using only the tools included with the robot.
Exploring new frontiers in robot personal trainers.
In this video we demonstrate the power-on, tablet command modes, and power-off procedures for Digit.
It's a good problem to have.
Digit is now in full commercial production and we're excited to announce a $20M funding rounding round co-led by DCVC and Playground Global!
