Although the name might be unfamiliar, Aesynt, a medical technology company based in the Pittsburgh region, has been a leader in pharmacy automation for a quarter century. The company began as Automated Healthcare, was acquired by McKesson and was then recently sold to Francisco Partners, a $7 billion private equity firm based in San Francisco. Since being taken private, Aesynt has made several acquisitions that have expanded the company's footprint across the globe.
