Gooney bird first flight

First flight of the Gooney Bird long-range drone on October 1, 2014. Filmed on the east ridge overlooking Hood River, OR. Estimated wind was at least 20 knots gusting 30.
Aircraft was unpowered with 5 pounds of iron ballast in place of the engine. Control was manual RC. Wingspan of the all carbon fiber airframe is 13 feet.
