    New Shepard mission NS-23 webcast

    New Shepard’s 23rd mission, a dedicated payloads flight, will fly 36 payloads from academia, research institutions, and students across the globe. The launch window opens at 8:30 AM CDT / 13:30 UTC from Launch Site One in West Texas.

    This mission brings the total number of commercial payloads flown on the vehicle to more than 150. Two payloads will fly on the exterior of the New Shepard booster for ambient exposure to the space environment. Eighteen payloads on this flight are funded by NASA, primarily by the Flight Opportunities Program. Among the NS-23 payloads are tens of thousands of postcards from Blue Origin’s nonprofit, Club for the Future, whose Postcards to Space program enables people around the world to fly their visions to space on New Shepard.

    New Shepard launch anomaly (NS-23)

    Blue Origin’s New Shepard reusable launch system has suffered an anomaly after being launched from the Launch Site One in West Texas, on 12 September 2022, at 14:26 UTC (09:26 CDT). The New Shepard capsule carried 34 payloads. Two payloads were placed on the exterior of the New Shepard booster for ambient exposure to the space environment. NS-23 was the ninth mission, launch and landing, for this New Shepard launch vehicle (NS3).

    Blue Origin NS-24 New Shepard launch and landing

    The New Shepard reusable launch system was launched from and landed at Blue Origin’s Launch Site One in West Texas, on 19 December 2023, at 16:43 UTC (10:43 CST). The New Shepard capsule carried 33 payloads. Blue Origin: “More than half of the payloads on this flight are developed and flown with support from NASA. Others come from K-12 schools, universities, and STEAM-focused organizations.” NS-24 is the ninth mission, launch and landing, for this New Shepard launch vehicle (NS4).
