    Long March-3B launches TianLian-2 03

    A Long March-3B rocket launched the TianLian-2 03 satellite (天链二号03星) from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Sichuan Province, southwest China, on 12 July 2022, at 16:30 UTC (13 July, at 00:30 local time). According to official sources, the satellite entered the desired orbit. TianLian-2 03 is the third satellite of China’s second-generation data relay satellite system.
    The satellite will form a network with TianLian-1 01, 02, 03, 04, 05, TianLian-2 01 and TianLian-2 02, providing global coverage for data relay and transmission services, supporting communications between the China Space Station and the mission control center in Beijing.

    A Long March-2C launch vehicle launched the SuperView Neo 2-01 and SuperView Neo 2-02 (Siwei-03 and Siwei-04) remote sensing satellites from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi Province, northern China, 15 July 2022, at 22:57 UTC (16 July, at 06:57 local time). According to official sources, the satellites have entered the planned orbits and will “provide commercial remote sensing data services for industries including surveying and mapping, environmental protection, as well as urban security and digital rural development.” SuperView Neo 2-01 and SuperView Neo 2-02 (四维高景二号01、02), also knows as Siwei-03 and Siwei-0 (四维03/04), were developed by DFH Satellite Co., Ltd. of China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) for China Siwei Surveying and Mapping Technology Co. Ltd. (China Siwei).

According to official sources, the satellites (遥感三十五号03组卫星A星、B星、C星; Yaogan-35 03 A, B and C) have entered the planned orbits successfully and will be “mainly used in scientific experiments, land and resources surveys, agricultural production estimates, and disaster prevention and mitigation.”

    A Long March-4B launch vehicle launched the Terrestrial Ecosystem Carbon Inventory Satellite (TECIS), and two small satellites: HEAD-2G and Minhang Juvenile Satellite, from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi Province, northern China, on 4 August 2022, at 03:08 UTC (11:08 local time). TECIS will evaluate forest biomass, measure atmospheric aerosol content and detect photosynthetic fluorescence.

According to official sources, the satellite entered the desired orbit and will be “mainly be used to provide remote sensing services in the fields of land resources management, agricultural resources survey, environment monitoring and city applications”.
