The suitcase of the future has landed

    Published on Jan 19, 2017

Barracuda took the concept of smart luggage then ran with it.

From its 360-degree rotating handle to its fully collapsible body and built-in USB charger, this suitcase accounts for travel trouble you didn’t even know you had.

Folded down, it’s just four inches high and slips easily under your bed or in your closet. It expands quickly into a robust, regular-sized carry-on that keeps you organized—laundry and shoe bags and mesh compartments keep clean and dirty items separate. And the included digital scale makes sure your bag stays under the weight limit.

When you’re ready to go, the loop and tighten strap helps secure the contents while the rotating handle lets you maneuver the bag without twisting your wrist.
At the terminal, pull your laptop out of the designated compartment and rest it on the slide-out tray to do some work. You can charge your phone while you wait, too.

Maker Boban Jose gathered a team of Silicon Valley engineers and industry experts to streamline the suitcase, from packing to boarding to storing. Their design attracted the attention of travelers everywhere—who proved, literally, that Barracuda is a million dollar idea.

    The Luggage Locator

    Published on Apr 13, 2017

This is the device that helps travelers find lost or missing luggage. About the size of a deck of cards, the locator is placed inside a suitcase and uses GSM technology (Global System for Mobile communications) to narrow down the location of a misplaced bag to a city or airport. A SIM card inside the device sends signals to cell phone towers, enabling an app to locate and display a luggage’s whereabouts on a digital map. A patented triaxial accelerometer in the device deactivates its signal during take off and reactivates it upon landing. The locator also connects to a smartphone via Bluetooth and sends an alert when the luggage is within 80', helping ease baggage claim anxiety.
