Getinge La Calhene Terman Remote Manipulator

Published on May 21, 2014

The Terman is a "new generation" computer-assisted remote manipulator with electrical motorization. This tool is used for work inside highly contaminated cells in nuclear plants and workshops. The operator, located outside the cell, moves the master arm while watching his work in the cell interior through a protective window or via a screen. All his movements are reproduced by the slave arm inside the cell.
The "TAO" dedicated software reduces the operator's physical effort thanks to the assistance provided by the electrical motors, yet gives the operator the feeling (feedback) of the work done by the master arm.
This remote manipulator achieves gains in ergonomics, dexterity, precision, productivity, maintenance and safety.
