She currently teaches art to over 300 students in the Portland, OR public school system. She is fascinated with the connection between science and the arts and is committed to bringing artistic expression to communities in need.
Kinetic Creatures are a set of three walking cardboard animal sculptures. The Creatures, Elly the Elephant, Rory the Rhino, and Geno the Giraffe, are each made up of cardboard pieces that you assemble using tabs-and-slots. By turning the wire handle, you make the creatures come alive with a simple mechanical motion.

This week, Norm shares a fun cardboard model kit that he found at a local craft fair. These Kinetic Creatures are easy-to-assemble animal sculptures that use a mechanical linkage system inspired by Theo Jansen's StrandBeest to conduct a beautiful walking motion.
