HexBug AquaBot New Water Based Hex Bugs Coming 2013. As Seen At New York Toy Fair 2013

    Published on Feb 28, 2013

HexBug Aquabot New for 2013 is the Hex Bugs Aquabot. These cool HexBugs are like pet fish - that you never need to feed and don't die (unless the batteries die). HexBug Aquabot work like regular HexBug Nano, but in the water. Simply drop them in a tank of water or the bathtub and watch them swim all around. So simple, but so cool. I could see kids loving this come bath time. There are a number of different colors to the HexBug Aquabot and when you get a few in the tank, it really looks like fish swimming around.

As soon as we can get some samples, we will have a full review of the HexBug Aquabots.

    Hexbug Aquabot

    Published on Jul 15, 2013

Hexbug Aquabot from Innovation First is a small swimming fish powered by button cell batteries. We've seen it before last year from a New Zealand company called Zuru Toys.
Put a hook on one and you'd have the ultimate self propelling bass lure. The clear plastic packaging is put to good use -- as a small fish tank, shaped like a hexigon, of course. About the size of a bass lure, these self-propelled robotic fish look just like Robo Fish; which were developed in New Zealand last year and still appear to be on the market (http://amzn.to/13ft2cH). Each fish is powered by two button-cell batteries (included). The silicon rubbery tails can be pulled off and used on different fish. The tail motion is randomized by a small internal computer, which gives a lifelike swimming motion to the fish. There is no on or off switch. Instead, you touch each side of the fish, on two capacitive sensors if you want the fish to swim out of water. The sensors also can be triggered by water.
