Autonomous Van completes demo at parcel depot | Robopilot Project

    Aug 10, 2021

The Robopilot project, featuring a consortium of nine partners, has been created to bring safety, efficiency and innovation within the delivery industry. The Robopilot Van autonomously senses its environment and predicts hazards that require a faster reaction time than human reflexes are capable of, making journeys safer and more efficient.

The goal of the Robopilot project is not only to demonstrate the ability of self-driving software to perform routes and function in a controlled environment but to also improve the perception of autonomous driving systems.

"The potential impact of automated self driving vehicles in the UK is really amazing, from vital improvements in road safety, and transport accessibility, to improvements in the efficiency of our roads, and the productivity of our workforce." - UK Minister for Investment, Lord Grimstone.
