Arianespace TV VA249 launch sequence

For its third flight with Ariane 5 this year, Arianespace will orbit two telecommunications satellites for long-term customers: Intelsat 39, for the operator Intelsat; and the EDRS-C satellite, based on a public–private partnership between the European Space Agency (ESA) and Airbus.

Through this mission, Arianespace highlights its ability to be at the service of innovative satellite solutions for commercial and institutional needs.

Liftoff is planned on Tuesday, August 6, 2019 as early as possible within the following launch window:
- Between 3:30 p.m. and 5:51 p.m. Washington DC time
- Between 4:30 p.m. and 6:51 p.m. Kourou, French Guiana time
- Between 19:30 and 21:51: Universal Time (UTC)
- Between 9:30 p.m. and 11:51p.m. Paris time

The nominal duration of the mission (from liftoff to separation of the satellites) is:

VA 250 launch sequence

On its fourth flight with Ariane 5 in 2019, Arianespace will orbit two telecommunications satellites at the service of long-term customers: TIBA-1 for Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space, on behalf of the Government of Egypt; and the GX5 satellite for the operator Inmarsat.

VA250 will be the 250th launch of an Ariane rocket, which lifted off for the first time on December 24, 1979.

Flight VA250 will be performed from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) in Kourou, French Guiana.

Liftoff is planned on Friday, November 22, 2019 as early as possible within the following launch window:
- Between 4:08 p.m. and 5:43 p.m. Washington, D.C. time
- Between 6:08 p.m. and 7:43 p.m. Kourou, French Guiana time
- Between 21:08 and 22:43 Universal / London Time (UTC/UK time)
- Between 10:08 p.m. and 11:43 p.m. Paris time, on the night of November 22

An Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle (Ariane Flight VA250) launched TIBA-1 and Inmarsat GX5 satellites to Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) at Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on 26 November 2019 at 21:23 UTC (18:23 local time). TIBA-1 is a civil and government telecommunication satellite for Egypt, owned and operated by the government of Egypt. Inmarsat GX5 is a mobile communications satellite, Inmarsat’s fifth Ka-band Global Xpress (GX) satellite and the most advanced in the GX fleet.

ARIANE’S 250 MISSION IS A SUCCESS: TIBA-1 AND INMARSAT
GX5 ARE IN ORBIT!

Arianespace has successfully orbited two geostationary satellites: TIBA-1, for Thales Alenia Space and Airbus Defence and Space on behalf of the Government of Egypt; and GX5 for the operator Inmarsat.

The launch took place on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at 18:23 p.m. (local time) from the Guiana Space Center (CSG), Europe’s Spaceport in Kourou, French Guiana (South America).
With this latest success, Arianespace once again proves its ability to support all satellite systems, even the most innovative, for both institutional and commercial customers.

Today’s launch also marks the 250th Ariane mission, a series that started with the first launch on December 24, 1979.

Arianespace VA251 - successful launch

For its initial flight of 2020, Arianespace will orbit two telecommunications satellites using an Ariane 5 launch vehicle from the Guiana Space Center: EUTELSAT KONNECT for the operator Eutelsat; and GSAT-30 for the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO).

Arianespace will confirm its leadership in the geostationary launch services market segment through this 107th Ariane 5 mission, to be performed as the company celebrates 40 years since its creation.

Flight VA251 will be performed from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) in Kourou, French Guiana.

Ariane 5 ECA launches EUTELSAT KONNECT and GSAT-30 satellites

An Ariane 5 ECA launch vehicle (Ariane Flight VA251) launched the telecommunications satellites EUTELSAT KONNECT and GSAT-30 to Geostationary Transfer Orbit (GTO) from Ariane Launch Complex No. 3 (ELA 3) at Guiana Space Centre in Kourou, French Guiana, on 16 January 2020 at 21:05 UTC (18:05 local time). The new EUTELSAT KONNECT satellite features all-electric propulsion and operates in Ka-band. Once in orbit, EUTELSAT KONNECT will offer total capacity of 75 Gbps. GSAT-30 is a telecommunications satellite designed and manufactured by ISRO to provide high-quality television, telecommunications and broadcasting services over Indian mainland and Islands.

Ariane 6 launch complex - March 2020

Take a tour of the Ariane 6 launch complex and its various facilities filmed on 1 March 2020 at Europe's Spaceport in French Guiana.

The 8200 tonne 90 metre-high mobile gantry stands over the launch pad. Take a look at the bogies that moved it there. Inside stand two mock-ups of the P120C boosters flanked by work platforms that will enable engineers to access the launch vehicle.

Delve deep under the launch table structure to see engineers working on the launch support systems.

Outside, tour past the liquid hydrogen and oxygen stores and on up to the assembly building where a mock-up of the Ariane 6 core stage is waiting at the entrance. Close by are additional service facilities, and the pumping station that will provide the water to quell the exhaust from the motors at liftoff.
