Arlo: The Robot You've Always Wanted

Published on Dec 15, 2014

Arlo is a robot you can build and program. He has far more sensors than almost any other robot. For example, he has 8 sensors in his hands, 6 real and 10 virtual perimeter sensors around his base, a compass, a beacon detector, a sensor for battery monitoring, 3 cameras, and a turret with both IR and Ultrasonic rangers. He is featured in a 4-part series in Servo Magazine (starting Jan 2015). Far more detail will be given in the book ARLO: THE ROBOT YOU'VE ALWAYS WANTED available from Amazon.com summer 2015. Arlo is programmed with RobotBASIC. Visit www.RobotBASIC.org for more information and to download your FREE copy of RobotBASIC. If you are a teacher interested in Robotics, imagine how motivated your students would be if Arlo spoke at your next graduation ceremony.

The first Arlo video showed many of his capabilities - this one shows his arms manipulating pill bottles. Arlo's arms are from EZ-robot.com. A new book, "Arlo: The Robot You've Always Wanted" explains how to build your own Arlo. It is available from RobotBASIC.org or Amazon.com after May1st, 2015.
