Good Over All Terrain (GOAT): Robotic locomotion through active and passive morphological adaptation

Robust outdoor locomotion was achieved through active and passive reconfiguration of a morphing robot made from elastic fiberglass rods. Our GOAT (Good Over All Terrain) robot leverages its adaptability to navigate in extreme outdoor environments performing "environmental computation".
