This 3D Animated Short was my first attempt as a 3D Artist. It portays the final project after one and a half years as a student in Digital Film & VFX at SAE Institute in Cologne. It was realized in coorperation with my colleague Felix Weyers. Together we submitted MegaByte to the SAE Alumni Convention and won the SAE Student Award in the category Best Animation Production.

"M.A.M.O.N. - Latinos VS. Donald Trump"
November 7, 2016

M.A.M.O.N. (Monitor Against Mexicans Over Nationwide) is a satirical fantasy sci-fi shortfilm that explores with black humor and lots of VFX the outrageous consequences of Donald Trump´s plan of banning immigration and building an enormous wall on the Mexico - US border.

The dark comedy showcases a spectacular fight involving bizarre weapons, and numerous dark jokes about the cliches and stereotypical antics of the Mexican and Latino community, as the quinceañera, the quetzalcoatl, the lucha libre, the mariachi, the chapulín colorado, etc.

M.A.M.O.N. is part of the Wecanfxit project, powered by Uruguayan production house Aparato.
Our mission is to change the world using our geeky weapons: cinematography, visual effects and CGI.
Our motto: Making the world a better place, one pixel at a time.

"The Greatest" - short film
from Shelby Y.
November 29, 2016

Short film for DGM1110
Rather than highlighting the horror a robot uprising would have on human beings, I wanted to focus more on what kind of sadness a robot would face, what with being persecuted and whatnot.
The story takes place after the Robot/Human War. Many of the androids lay broken and discarded, but one awakens. Like a phoenix, she rises from the debris and searches for her friends. Together, they leave their life behind and retreat to the outside world, perhaps to save more of their kind or to retreat to a sanctuary. We may never know.

"Memdo"
February 8, 2014

(In progress )

For the moments we wish we could have captured.

Memdo is a robot of many features but one of his newest allows for him to connect to the human mind. Once you and Memdo are synced, he then takes a memory you are currently focused on and creates a holographic form in front of you.

The example used within the video is of a man who has lost his old pal and has a special memory he would like for Memdo to recreate.

A short film created with footage from Daft Punk's Electroma, as well as the song "Goodbye" by Aparat. I've been really enjoying the idea of the difference between the emotional side of human intelligence and artificial intelligence.

CGI 3D animated short: "Signal/Void" - by Substance

Published on Jul 11, 2017

Check out this amazing CGI Animated Short created by the talented team at Substance! Signal/Void is a darker perspective on the networks we belong to and take part in every day: some voluntary, some unseen. The mechanisms of these networks are designed to keep us plugged in by delivering stories, information, and images - hopes and dreams - that directly feed our own desires and version of reality.

But the cold truth is that the ultimate goal is often the collection, quantification, analysis, and storage of our very selves, and so these networks are carefully tuned and maintained to best keep us blindly acquiescent. The system is addictive and hard to escape; it sucks up time, closes our eyes to the world around us, and blinds us to a true human connection.
