Are these painting robots creative? Probably...

Can robots be creative? They probably already are.

In this video I demonstrate many of the algorithms and approaches I have programmed into my artistic painting robots to give them creative autonomy.

I hope to demonstrate that it is no longer a question of whether machines can be creative, but only a debate of whether their creations can be considered art.

So can robot's make art? Probably not...

but can robots be creative? Probably.

Furthermore, in the artistic discipline of portraiture, they are already very close to human parity.

AI as a creative tool - Art with the assistance of painting robots

This is recent talk I gave at the Aspen Institute's AI Summit in Berlin featuring how my AI painting robots are now helping me be more creative. As an artist's tool, AI is fundamentally different from all previous tools. It not only allows me to make art more efficiently, it also aids in my creativity. This talk outlines how.
