A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 551 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Atlas 1 (KA-01) mission, 27 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 41 (SLC-41) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 28 April 2025, at 23:01 UTC (19:01 EDT).
A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 551 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Atlas 2 (KA-02) mission, the second batch of 27 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 41 (SLC-41) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 23 June 2025, at 10:54 UTC (06:54 EDT).
A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Falcon 1 (KF-01) mission, 24 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 16 July 2025, at 06:30 UTC (02:30 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1096) landed on the “A Shortfall of Gravitas” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This was the first Falcon 9 launch for Amazon’s Project Kuiper and the third batch of Kuiper satellites placed into orbit.
A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Falcon 2 (KF-02) mission, 24 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 11 August 2025, at 12:35 UTC (08:35 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1091) landed on the “A Shortfall of Gravitas” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. This was the second Falcon 9 launch for Amazon’s Project Kuiper and the fourth batch of Kuiper satellites placed into orbit.
A United Launch Alliance (ULA) Atlas V 551 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Atlas 3 (KA-03) mission, 27 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 41 (SLC-41) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 25 September 2025, at 12:09 UTC (08:09 EDT).
A SpaceX Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Kuiper Falcon 3 (KF-03) mission, 24 satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO) for Amazon’s Project Kuiper, from Space Launch Complex 40 (SLC-40) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, Florida, on 14 October 2025, at 01:58 UTC (13 October, at 21:58 EDT). Following stage separation, Falcon 9’s first stage (B1091) landed on the “A Shortfall of Gravitas” droneship, stationed in the Atlantic Ocean, having previously supported the KF-02 mission. This was the third Falcon 9 launch for Amazon’s Project Kuiper and the sixth batch of Kuiper satellites placed into orbit.
Project Kuiper is now Amazon Leo.
Our name—a nod to the advanced low Earth orbit satellite constellation that powers the service—may be new, but our mission remains the same: to deliver fast, reliable internet to those beyond the reach of existing networks.
