Cafe X was started by three college friends with a passion for robotics and an eye for efficiency. The robot barista uses beans from local coffee shops to create a variety of espresso drinks. TechCrunch visited the mechanized coffee shop at San Francisco's AMC Matron.

At Cafe X, a robot behind reinforced clear plexiglass will take your coffee order. Just tap it out on a nearby tablet or the app on your phone.
