Dr. Patrick Meier is an internationally recognized expert on Humanitarian Technology. Over the past 12 years, Patrick has worked in the Sudan, Somalia, Uganda, Liberia, Philippines, Kyrgyzstan, Nepal, Timor-Leste, Western Sahara, Haiti, Vanuatu and elsewhere on a wide range of innovative humanitarian projects with multiple international organizations including the United Nations and the World Bank.

In 2015, he spearheaded the Bank’s post-disaster UAV mission in response to a Category 5 Cyclone in the Pacific. He was subsequently invited by the UN to coordinate UAV teams responding to the Nepal Earthquakes. He later conducted a joint disaster recovery UAV Mission in Nepal to support rebuilding and preparedness efforts. Patrick is the Executive Director of WeRobotics and the founder of the Humanitarian UAV Network (UAViators). His influential and widely-read blog iRevolutions has received over 1.7 million hits.
 

WeRobotics @ NatGeo Explorer's Festival 2017

On June 15th, WeRobotics co-founder Patrick Meier gave a talk at the 2017 National Geographic Explorer’s Festival. Patrick spoke about the activities ongoing at each of the Flying Labs along with their future plans. He also offered to match all National Geographic Explorers with local robotics teams around the world to further their explorations.
