Long March-2C launches Huanjing-2 06 (S-SAR-02)

A Long March-2C launch vehicle launched the Huanjing-2 06 satellite from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Center, Shanxi Province, China, on 8 August 2023, at 22:53 UTC (9 August, at 06:53 local time). The Huanjing-2 06 (环境减灾二号06) satellite, also know as S-SAR-02, is designed to collect 5-metre resolution S-band radar image data and will “support disaster prevention, reduction, relief, and environmental protection”. According to official sources, the satellite entered the planned orbit and will form a network with S-SAR-01.

According to official sources, Gaofen-12 04 (高分十二号04) entered the planned orbit successfully and “will be used in a variety of fields, including land surveys, urban planning, road network design, crop yield estimation and disaster relief”.

According to official sources, the satellite has successfully entered the planned orbit and “will be mainly used in the fields of scientific experimental research, marine and land resource census, agricultural product production estimation and disaster prevention and mitigation”.
