GSLV-F10 fails to launch EOS-03

A Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk II (GSLV-F10) launched the EOS-03 satellite from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) of the Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota, India, on 12 August 2021, at 00:13 UTC (05:43 IST). The satellite was not placed into the desired orbit due to a problem with the third cryogenic stage. According to ISRO, “EOS-03 is a state-of-the-art agile Earth observation satellite”. The GSLV-F10 mission was the fourteenth flight of ISRO’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV).

GSLV-F12 launches NVS-01

A Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk II (GSLV-F12) launched the NVS-01 navigation satellite into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota, on 29 May 2023, at 05:12 UTC (10:42 IST). NVS-01 (~2232 kg) is the first of the second-generation satellites envisaged for the Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) services.

A Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle Mk II (GSLV-F14) launched the INSAT-3DS meteorological satellite into a Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) from the Second Launch Pad (SLP) at Satish Dhawan Space Centre SHAR (SDSC SHAR), Sriharikota, on 17 February 2024, at 12:05 UTC (17:35 IST). INSAT-3DS “is designed for enhanced meteorological observations and monitoring of land and ocean surfaces for weather forecasting and disaster warning”.

NVS-02 is part of Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC), India’s independent regional navigation satellite system.
