Huawei now: tree-planting AI robot

Nov 12, 2019

Global warming is one of the biggest threats to our planet and the most effective way to fight climate change is by planting trees. Huawei has teamed with East China Normal University in Shanghai to create a low-cost, energy-efficient AI robot, which can plant trees 24 hours a day. The main technology behind the robot is the Huawei Atlas 200 DK computing platform, which is an AI inference device powered by a Huawei Ascend 310 AI processor. Video encoding and decoding capabilities of the AI processor, as well as up to 16 TOPS computing power, mean the robot can identify obstacles and dangers in surrounding areas in real time so it can plant trees effectively and efficiently. Watch to see how this cool invention can help improve the environment.
