Milrem Robotics and InnoVfoam develop robotic firefighters

The jointly developed firefighting solutions, combine Milrem Robotics’ unmanned ground vehicle (UGV) Multiscope Rescue and InnoVfoam’s various firefighting systems, specifically foam proportioning systems and fire monitors.
The firefighting robots are remotely operated by firefighters who will remain in a safe distance while receiving a complete overview of the operation area via various cameras, i.e. thermal and infrared, and sensors onboard the robot.

The Department of Energy’s Oak Ridge National Laboratory is developing new methods to identify electrical arcing that can spark wildfires, using a combination of computer algorithms and drone-mounted sensors. Researchers are also honing the use of sensors to support U.S. Forest Service decisions about how to fight fires on the move.
