The Android Technology Company showed off two of their latest models at the IMMOPROM 2014 exhibition in Yekaterinburg on Friday. The SAR-400 was made jointly with Roscosmos, and is designed to work in space, as a Russian companion to NASA's Robonaut.
The 144 kg (317 lbs) android can independently perform simple maintenance tasks and is expected to be sent to the International Space Station later this year.
The AR-600E is a general purpose android which can hold simple conversations on specific topics, move, and detect its location.
The AR-600 is 140cm tall, weighs 50kg and is packed with about 100 tactile sensors which detect objects at a distance of 15cm. It can be used to gather intelligence in emergency situations where sending a human would be too dangerous.
