Virtual Humans are computer-generated characters that use language, have appropriate gestures, show emotion react to verbal and non-verbal stimuli. Widely considered the most comprehensive research project of its kind, the ICT virtual human effort has applications in training and education and in furthering social science research about real people. The Virtual Human toolkit provides a solid technical foundation and modularity that allows a relatively easy way of mixing and matching toolkit technology with a research project's proprietary or 3rd-party software.
