The Tianwen-2 (天问二号) mission was launched by a Long March-3B launch vehicle from the Xichang Satellite Launch Center, Sichuan Province, China, on 28 May 2025, at 17:31 UTC (29 May, at 01:31 local time). Tianwen-2 aims to return samples from the near-Earth asteroid 2016 HO3 (469219 Kamoʻoalewa) and to study the main-belt comet 311P/PanSTARRS (P/2013 P5).
