Modern situational awareness is required to help us better assess situations and make better decisions by reacting to fires more quickly.OroraTech analyzes the high resolution long-wave and mid-wave thermal images captured by a space based sensor network, and provides critical insights with high confidence rates about locations and the fire spread in a very short time.
Rocket Lab’s Electron launch vehicle launched the “Finding Hot Wildfires Near You” mission, eight wildfire detection OroraTech Constellation Phase 1 satellites, from Pad B at Rocket Lab Launch Complex 1 in Mahia, New Zealand, on 26 March 2025, at 15:30 UTC (27 March, at 04:30 NZDT).
