Psychosocial Roboticist with a focus in human-robot interaction, human-computer interaction and interface design, robotics, affective computing, and artificial intelligence with doctoral minors in psychology and applied statistics. Current research includes robots for therapeutic use, non-facial/non-verbal affective expression, and cognitive science. After graduation in August 2009, I relocated to Connecticut to perform research as a NSF Computing Innovation Postdoctoral Research Fellow (CIFellow) at Yale University. I am currently an Assistant Professor in the Computer Science and Engineering Department at Mississippi State University in Starkville, MS area. Additionally, I am the Director of the Social, Therapeutic, and Robotic Systems (STaRS) Lab and a Research Affiliate with the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (CAVS) Human Factors Lab located at Mississippi State University.
