The third SPACE ONE KAIROS launch vehicle launched the “Rising Hope Star” mission, with five small satellites, from the SpacePort Kii (スペースポート紀伊), Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, on 5 March 2026, at
02:10 UTC (11:10 local time). Shortly after liftoff, the launch vehicle experienced an anomaly and the mission was terminated. According to SPACE ONE (スペースワン), KAIROS is a four-stage launch vehicle (solid fuel three-stage and liquid propellant upper stage) designed to launch small satellites of up to 150 kg to a 500 km Sun-synchronous orbit (SSO) and up to 250 kg to a 500 km low-Earth orbit (LEO).
