“Blade-type Crawler Vehicle With Gyro Wheel for Stably Traversing Uneven Terrain at High Speed,” by Yasuyuki Yamada, Hirotaka Sawada, Takashi Kubota, and Taro Nakamura from Chuo University and Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA). Presented at ICRA 2017 in Singapore.
In collaboration with our colleagues from Iowa State and University of Georgia, we have put our pipe-crawling worm robot to test in the field. See it crawls through corrugated drainage pipes in a stream, and a smooth section of a subsurface drainage system. For technical details about the robot, see ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/11018750
